Fitbit Charge 2 Review

There are numerous heartbeat and step trackers. However, most people don’t want a generic fitness watch that has so few options.

Thankfully, fitbit meets almost every fitness tracker need and then some. Considering it’s multiple settings (model depending) and plentiful app addons, fitbit takes the cake in regards to best fitness trackers. I can attest to it’s usefulness after owning one for almost a year.

This review covers the Fitbit Charge 2. Mainly because it’s a perfect middle ground for a fitness watch. It’s not to pricey and has extra features without going overboard.

Other Reviews For Fitbit Charge 2

We managed to find quite a few reviews on the Charge 2 so we got a nice average for the star rating.

Fitbit Charge 2 Overview

The Charge 2 has plenty of strengths and weaknesses. The key to finding an adequate fitness tracker is to find what’s right for you.

This one is perfect if you’re looking for an affordable fitness watch that tracks heart rate, calories, sleep cycles, step counter, alarms, and has a simple to use design. The battery will last an average of 5 days and charges quick.

Another strong point to the Charge 2, is the fitbit app (Android / iOS). It has an easy to use interface and can even track your diet, making it a fitness tracker that’s perfect for any fitness enthusiast.

There are a few downfalls to the charge 2. For example, it’s not waterproof so don’t plan on swimming with it. Another downfall I’ve noticed is that the screen isn’t scratch resistant, so make sure to grab screen protectors when buying.

Pros and Cons:

Pros
  • Affordable
  • Tracks heart rate, calories, foot steps, and sleep
  • 5-day battery life
  • Calendar alerts and alarms
  • Incredibly useful app

Cons
  • Not water proof
  • Screen is not scratch resisant
  • Uses GPS through phone, so need to run with a smartphone to get distance data

Charge 2 Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 8.6 x 0.9 x 0.5 inches ; 1.12 ounces
  • Touchscreen
  • 5-day battery life
  • Heart rate, calorie, and sleep tracker
  • Replaceable straps
  • Sizes: small large, extra large

Drive Thru Takeaway:

Final thoughts on the charge 2 are that it is a great fitness tracker unless you need it for swimming. Additionally, if you want a fitness watch that has built in GPS, then you may want to look elsewhere. Personally, I run with my phone anyway and just connect the charge 2 with it’s GPS.

It’s also affordable for a mid-range fitness tracker and has a great social feature to keep track of your friends.
