Asus K501UW Overview
The ASUS K501UW-AB78 15.6-inch gaming laptop is one that perfectly blends general use and gaming. I’d recommend it to any gamer that is looking for something more portable and also to any programmer looking for a higher preforming laptop.
Features?
It has a nice 8GB of memory, a 512 solid-state-drive (SSD), a 15.6-inch Full HD display, and a backlit keyboard. Add in the Intel Core i7-6500U processor and NVIDIA graphics card, and you have a machine that is perfect for performance gaming. An extra note to make is that the 8GB of memory is the baseline, but expansion is available through a SO-DIMM socket. So if you’d prefer more speed, there is the option to add more.
What about connectivity?
The ASUS K501UW has an integrated 802.11ac wireless card, built-in Bluetooth 4.0 and 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet.
Cooling options?
Thankfully, the gaming laptop does come with two dedicated fans, one for it’s CPU and another for it’s GPU. To save space and efficiency, they share the same heat sink and will cool the laptop down even during exhaustive computing. Additionally, all of the heat generating components are placed near the far end of the laptop to keep your palms remain cool during use.
